Experience exceptional value with the 2005-2008(JAN) Toyota Crown Athlete 3.5L GRS184! The last Crown model said to offer a genuine leather interior before they moved to synthetics leaving the genuine leather interiors to the Lexus line up. Although the interiors in these are premium sadly due to moving away from vinyl dash boards due to regulations the first generations of all Japanese brands using the new materials in the 2000’s era suffer from dash cracking. Yes we are fussy and managed to find a few crack free as you will see in our blogs but this is an extreme rarity and with age and a more and more common occurrence over time so if importing one expect the vehicles to have dash cracks or be prepared for them to develop. Most owners cover them with a dash mats and enjoy what a great vehicle they are. Reliable is an understatement, of course with lack of care and time maintenance will be required but we have seen examples in Japan used for business with over 800,000kms on the clock.

Equipped with the robust 2GR-FSE 3.5L V6 engine, it delivers an impressive 315PS through a reliable 6-speed automatic transmission. No hybrid option was available in this generation and you will need to look to the next if you would like us to source you one with a hybrid drivetrain. The Athlete V’s are legendary due to their 1JZ-GTE drive train but trust us if your not going to modify your power train these are just so much better to drive. A massive step up in handling & ride comfort they were named the Zero Crown for a reason, it was a total reset for Toyota of what the Crown experience embodied. Own one and you will see why they were so massively popular in Japan. If you don’t need the max power then consider the 3L or 2.5L versions for better fuel economy which about is the only downside of these larger sedans however it is better than a 1JZ-GTE based on our real life testing.

This striking model features a rare OEM ABS Modellista Option Aero Kit, elegant black leather interior, sunroof, rear spoiler, and a sleek pearl finish. Been a G Package you get a rear fridge, reclining rear seat, pop up rear sunshade and independent rear A/C. You do loose some trunk space in the G package due to the rear seat equipment so if this worries you and you don’t need those features then a Premium or 60th is for you. Rare on the G package is a Sunroof option as the rear head room is reduced and as the G package is all about the rare seat passengers most buyers opt for the tin roof in respect of their important passengers. Passengers around 6ft will defiantly notice the sunroof obstruction in the rear headroom. Due to emission law changes in New Zealand this was one of the last examples we sent that way but they represent great value for markets like Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia and elsewhere looking for entry level price point VIP Lexus quality.
