Masterclass Steel Wide Body by DS Customworx: This is not a standard fibreglass bolt on kit; it is a masterclass in custom metal fabrication by the elite fabricators at DS Customworx in Christchurch. Every single line of the factory Chaser profile was meticulously reshaped out of real sheet steel. The project demanded hundreds of hours of precision labor to hand roll, trim, and seamlessly weld the aggressive flares directly into the factory quarters and front guards. To maintain an uncompromised OEM+ aesthetic, the rear doors were painstakingly sliced, flared, and rebuilt to transition flawlessly into the massive rear arches. The inner wheel arches and tubs were completely chopped and re-fabricated from scratch to allow low-slung, ultra-wide wheel fitment without a hint of scrubbing.
Bespoke ABS Plastic Bumper Sculpting: Achieving perfect panel gaps on a steel widebody requires expert bumper modification. Rather than relying on fragile fiberglass replacements, a dedicated plastic-welding specialist was commissioned to cut, extend, and re-sculpt the factory ABS plastic front and rear bumpers. The bars were widened precisely to meet the new steel quarter lines, ensuring that every factory mounting point, body line, and trim piece aligns exactly as Toyota intended. The entire body is finished in flawless Nissan Phantom Black Pearl paint and sealed with a multi-layer ceramic coating, creating a deep, glass like reflection that emphasises the muscular, flowing proportions of the custom metalwork.

500WHP Elite Performance & Chassis Tuning: Under the hood sits a single-turbo 2.5L 1JZ-GTE VVTi inline-six, built for violent acceleration and absolute reliability. Sourced from the owner’s decade long stewardship, the setup has been evolved and perfected, featuring a top mounted TD06 turbo screaming through a premium, New Zealand made Sinco manifold. Tuned to absolute perfection by Rapid Performance, it belts out a dyno proven 500 WHP at a conservative 17psi. Power is fed through an R154 5-Speed manual gearbox, bolstered by a heavy duty clutch and a hard locking KAAZ 2-way differential with a punchy 4.3 final drive ratio for instant response.
Chassis Geometry & High-End Footwork: To handle the massive increase in track width and power, the suspension geometry was completely overhauled. The car rides on Hakon adjustable suspension valved to balance aggressive street driving with high speed stability. The rear end is fully adjustable via premium Kazama Auto Hard Race arms, working in tandem with custom billet Negative Roll Centre Adjusters (NRCAs) by Rapid Performance to correct roll centres and eliminate bump steer. Stopping power is handled by a monstrous Wilwood big brake kit clamp down on custom drilled and slotted rotors, tucked tightly behind custom built 19-inch SSR Type 6 Reiner wheels.
Elevated Cabin & Premium Audio: The interior has been treated to a comprehensive, high tier refresh that completely modernises the driving experience while respecting its late 90s heritage. The front occupants are hugged by genuine Recaro SR6 bucket seats, surrounded by immaculate factory optional carbon fiber interior trims and a pristine Nardi steering wheel. The custom front floor mats are fabricated out of raw aluminum and expertly wrapped in plush suede fabric. Sound is delivered via a Sony and JBL audio system, powered by an ultra-slim subwoofer hidden neatly beneath the driver's seat.
