Key Details
Exterior Finished in 040 Super White II, the exterior shows the cleaner lines of the late-model Kouki facelift. Original pieces remain: factory rear spoiler with integrated LED brake light, original side skirts, and the GT-Z functional hood scoop feeding the intercooler. Period-inspired additions include a Purple Speed front lower spoiler, a subtle aftermarket exhaust tip, and 15x7J Borbet alloys on Dunlop tires. The front gets upgraded LED headlights alongside factory yellow fog lamps. Underbody and chassis rails are clean and rust-free, consistent with low mileage.
Interior: Greyish-blue scale upholstery with a subtle purple hint in the seat centres.. Driver-focused cockpit includes a factory leather steering wheel. Rare factory features for the 5-speed manual version are, Auto Drive (cruise control option), Push-button electronic HVAC (not full slide type), slide-out twin cup holder and "Freebox" storage and Full power package consisting of electric windows and mirrors.
Engine and Upgrades: Under the hood is the peak-evolution Kouki 4A-GZE supercharged inline-4. This late-type uses a MAP sensor (no airflow meter), distributorless twin-coil ignition, and a smaller supercharger pulley for factory high boost of 8.0–9.5 psi (0.55–0.65 bar).
Key upgrades for reliability: The Intercooler hoses swapped to high durability silicone with heavy duty clamps to prevent boost leaks. The HT spark plug leads have been upgraded. Previously the timing belt replaced. Rare for 1989 this model runs R134a A/C gas factory meaning easy maintenance. The chassis has YSR adjustable full-tap coilovers and slotted rotors all around for improved handling and braking.
